The Hartford has confirmed it has received an unsolicited bid from Chubb to acquire the business, following an earlier report of potential sale talks between the two insurers.

The Connecticut-based carrier did not give any further details about potential transaction terms, but noted that the company’s board of directors was “carefully considering” the proposal.
