Insurers struggling to cope with sheer volume of Uri claims: RPS

Insurers have been overwhelmed by the sheer volume of claims stemming from the unprecedented winter weather that struck states including Texas in February, according to a report from wholesale broker Risk Placement Services (RPS).

One carrier is dealing with 120,000 claims, while another is handling 50,000 claims, RPS said.
