WR Berkley (WRB) has recorded a rise in the flow of excess and surplus lines (E&S) submissions as the US economy begins to shrug off the effects of Covid-19, the carrier’s CEO said on Tuesday.

Speaking on first quarter earnings call, Rob Berkley attributed the uptick also to insurers in the standard primary market continuing to pull back.
