Seven (re)insurers to join UN-backed ‘Race to Zero emissions’ finance group

A group of seven major European (re)insurers have pledged to join the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ), a coalition of financial institutions that have pledged to work to eliminate fossil fuel investing, lending and underwriting by 2050.

Axa, Allianz, Aviva, Munich Re, Scor, Swiss Re and Zurich have signed the pledge and joined the group, which also includes banking giants Citi, HSBC, Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank and Barclays.
