Cincinnati Financial’s operating earnings jumped 62% in Q1 to $222mn, as the carrier lifted underwriting profit fivefold to $133mn in Q1.

Operating earnings per share bounced to $1.37, ahead of an analyst consensus of $1.05, and a turnaround from the $0.84
