Markel’s global executive underwriting officer for cyber, Kara Owens, has decided to leave the carrier, Markel announced on Wednesday, with senior director of global cyber underwriting Kelly Castriotta being promoted to take over Owens’ role.

Owens joined Markel in 2018 from TransRe, where she was head of cyber. She began her career at Guy Carpenter.
