In late-2019/early-2020, Allstate’s CEO Tom Wilson introduced the Transformative Growth Plan to increase market share in personal lines. The initiative followed a decade of steadily losing market share in personal lines, from 10.7% in 2011 to 9.8% in 2020.

The proposed plan entailed growing customers in the direct and independent agents’ channels, lowering costs to increase customers’ value, and redesigning products to allow for more customization.
