Hippo Insurance subsidiary Spinnaker has created Spinnaker Specialty, a new excess and surplus (E&S) lines carrier that will source business through program administrators and managing general agents.

The new Bedminster, NJ-based carrier received an A- (excellent) rating by AM Best and a stable outlook that reflect an intercompany quota share reinsurance agreement with its parent company Spinnaker.
