The cost of personal auto insurance rose 11.3% in June compared with the same period last year, driven by the impact of Covid-19 driven rebates in auto insurance in 2020, according to inflation data from the US Department of Labor.

The price rise, which pushed the CPI motor vehicle insurance index up 1.2%, was below the 16.9% rise the department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in May.
