Travelers growth hits 11% in Q2, highest since 2005

Travelers reported its best growth figure since 2005, with net premiums written surging by 11%, as the company swung back to second quarter profitability after cats took a heavy toll in the prior-year period.

On Tuesday, the company said it logged a $253mn underwriting profit in Q2, bouncing back from its $232mn underwriting loss last year.
