RLI boosts top line by 25% in Q2; CoR hits 84.8% on lower cats, favorable PPD

RLI grew gross written premiums (GWP) by 25% in the second quarter, becoming the second carrier in as many days to have capitalized on the combination of an economic rebound and continued firming in market conditions.

On Wednesday evening, the Illinois-based insurer said underwriting income grew by 52% to $37mn in Q2 compared with last year.
