RenaissanceRe posted a Q2 underwriting profit of $329mn, driven by a strong quarter in its property business despite weaker results in the casualty and specialty segment.

The company said on Thursday it earned $5.64 per share in operating income in the second quarter, beating the $4.74-per-share
