WR Berkley reported operating EPS of $1.17, 17% higher than Street consensus. The beat was driven the combination of strong earned premium growth and an improved underlying loss ratio.

Earlier this week, Travelers also reported a beat, with commercial lines driving a lower underwriting loss ratio as compared to the pre-pandemic figure.
