Selective Insurance reports 669% increase in net underwriting income from prior year

New Jersey-based Selective Insurance Group reported underwriting profit of $60mn, a more than sevenfold increase from the $7.8mn recorded in Q2 2020.

President and CEO John Marchioni staid that this is the strongest capital position in the company’s history, as the company’s operating profit jumped to $112mn, up from $24mn in the same quarter last year.
