Amerisafe links Q2 combined ratio improvement to US economy reopening

Workers’ compensation insurer Amerisafe said Thursday that favorable development and a decline in its expense ratio pushed its combined ratio for the second quarter down 4.1 points.

The Louisiana-based company reported a combined ratio of 74.4%, down from 78.5% in the prior-year period. President and CEO Janelle Frost noted that industry-wide, the combined ratio is increasing.
