Auto premiums fall in July for first time in six months

Motor vehicle insurance was one of the few areas of consumer spending where prices dropped in July.

The latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) shows that motor vehicle insurance premiums fell 2.8% last month, after rising each of the last six months, the Labor Department said Wednesday.
