Classic car underwriter The Hagerty Group has entered a merger agreement with special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Aldel Financial to pursue a public listing.

The announcement comes after Inside P&C revealed Hagerty had appointed JP Morgan to explore capital-raising options, including merging with a blank-check company to go public.
