Boy Scouts’ settlement with The Hartford cannot be thrown out, judge rules

A Delaware bankruptcy judge, after three days of testimony, has granted a request by the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) to enter into an agreement that includes an $850mn fund for the victims of alleged sexual abuse by Scout leaders.

The agreement had been negotiated by the BSA, about 250 Scout councils across the country, and lawyers representing more than 60,000 men who claimed to have suffered sexual abuse at Boy Scouts camps and activities.
