Judge grants class certification to State Farm insureds in Virginian Covid case

A federal judge in Virginia has granted a class certification to policyholders who sued State Farm over an alleged breach of contract that included coverage of loss of income as a result of the suspension of operations during the pandemic.

Several businesses claimed that the mammoth mutual insurer wrongfully denied coverage after they had to shutter their operations when local authorities ordered the closure of recreational businesses due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
