UK competition authority launches probe into AJ Gallagher-Willis Re deal

The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has launched an inquiry into AJ Gallagher’s planned acquisition of Willis Re.

The watchdog announced this morning that it will look to determine whether the merger “may be expected to result in a substantial lessening of competition within any market or markets in the UK for goods or services”.
