Berkley promotes Smyrl to president, Fletcher to chairman of Admiral Insurance Group

Specialty carrier WR Berkley (WRB) has appointed Daniel Smyrl president of its subsidiary Admiral Insurance Group. The executive succeeds Curtis Fletcher, who was named chairman of Admiral, and stepped into a more advisory role.

Both appointments are effective immediately, Berkley said.

Smyrl joined Admiral in 2002 and most recently served as executive vice president of underwriting.
