Argo narrows underwriting loss to $1.3mn in Q3 on lower cats

Argo reported a $1.3mn underwriting loss for the third quarter, down from $48mn the year before, as the company benefitted from its ongoing efforts to cut volatility in its portfolio amid a heavy cat quarter for the industry.

On Tuesday, the insurer said it earned $0.91 in operating income per share in the quarter, a vast improvement from the $0.29
