SiriusPoint’s Sankaran says more work needed to cut property cat exposure

SiriusPoint’s efforts to reduce its legacy property cat book from Third Point Re have not been enough, and more work to cut its exposure to that business remains, CEO Sid Sankaran said.

Since the firm closed the merger between Third Point and Sirius Group last February, the Bermudian (re)insurer has aimed to shrink property cat exposure in a bid to reduce the volatility of its portfolio.
