Buybacks: Companies likely to pick up the pace if pricing trends falter

The P&C industry generally lags in repatriating capital versus other financial and non-financial sectors. Not so long ago (okay, it was 15 years ago), we recall conversations with various management teams on the subject. When we asked why the pace was so slow, we were looked at as if we were asking for charitable handouts!
