Hippo president says going public was right decision ‘at the time’

Hippo president Richard McCathron has said that taking the InsurTech MGA public through a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) deal earlier this year was the “right decision” at the time, and that it was a key move to gain customer trust.

“It is difficult to say, if we knew then what we know now, would we have gone public? I don’t know, because we didn’t need [to raise] the money,” McCathron said.
