Genstar-backed top-20 retail broker Alera Group acquired six agencies to bolster its services and offerings across P&C and employee and benefits solutions, the company said Wednesday.

The six acquired firms are: Santa Ana, California-based Ashbrook-Clevidence; Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania-based Benefit Design Specialists; Maywood, New Jersey-based Erich Courant & Co; Southern New Jersey-based Heist Insurance Agency; Philadelphia-based Simkiss & Block and New York-based The D.B.L.
