Minnesota-based program writer Trean Insurance Group has become the latest firm to launch an excess and surplus (E&S) lines business, with the company announcing Monday afternoon the formation of Benchmark Specialty.

The new entity will operate as a subsidiary of Benchmark Insurance Company, which is an admitted company domiciled in Kansas.
