Nephila-backed catastrophe MGA Velocity Risk Underwriters has reached a deal to be acquired by alternative asset manager Oaktree Capital, the two firms announced on Tuesday.

Velocity was launched in 2015 by ILS fund manager Nephila Capital, which itself was bought by specialty insurer Markel in 2018.
