One of the defining features of 2021 was the rapid upward march of valuations for insurance fee businesses, which reached record levels.

Private retail brokers were so hot that the biggest brokers weren’t brought to market at all, with the likes of Alliant and NFP refinanced by their existing backers (and Hub late in 2020) who didn’t want to exit.
