Travelers U/W income dips in Q4 as core loss ratio rises, reserve releases slow

Travelers on Thursday morning reported $5.20 in core income per share, resoundingly beating analysts’ estimates of $3.86.

Underwriting income, however, fell slightly as the company’s underlying loss ratio rose, reserve releases were more modest, and catastrophe losses were slightly higher.
