The number of federal securities class action suits filed in US courts decreased by 36% from last year to 205 in 2021, hitting its lowest mark in over a decade, according to a report by Nera Economic Consulting.

Filings dropped below 300 suits for the first time since 2016, marking the lowest number since the 205 cases recorded in 2009.
