WR Berkley (WRB) notched record-setting underwriting income for the fourth time in the last five quarters, registering $261mn in underwriting profits for the last three months of 2021, up almost 60% from the same period a year ago.

The Greenwich-based specialty company reported operating income of $1.53 per share, a 66% jump from last year and surpassing analysts’ $1.25-per-share
