Florida State Senator Jeff Brandes said he would bring proposals to lower the industry loss retention at which the state reinsurer pays out back to the state legislature, after withdrawing a proposed amendment to that end in a committee hearing on Thursday.

Brandes put forth the idea in an amendment to an insurance omnibus bill being heard by the Senate Committee on Appropriations.
