Educator-focused carrier Horace Mann plans to increase auto rates during 2022 between 6.5% and 7%, in states representing 75% of its premiums, to address the higher costs associated with claims in the segment.

“[We] will remain competitive with fair pricing for the education market while addressing the inflationary pressure,” the firm’s CEO Marita Zuraitis told Wall Street analysts during the Q4 earnings call.
