Amerisafe swings to Q4 loss as CR deteriorates to 112.9% after ‘first cat claim’

Workers’ compensation specialist Amerisafe swung back to a loss during the last quarter of 2021 as the firm’s combined ratio deteriorated to 112.9% from 70.4% a year earlier.

After reporting its Q4 results on Tuesday afternoon, the company also announced the appointment of Billy Greer, a managing director at Prudential Financial’s PGIM Private Capital, to its board of directors.
