With two carriers having lost their Demotech ratings this month, the tide of risk heading back to the Florida state is becoming stronger – but reinsurers expect this to have little impact on what will be a fraught June renewal.

While start-up Slide has taken over $400mn in premium from St John’s, swerving the prospect of its extensive portfolio falling back to Citizens, there are few other prospective carriers out there in a similar position to Slide.
