United to merge Journey Insurance into American Coastal unit in reorganization plan

United Insurance Holdings has announced a reorganization plan that consolidates its four Florida-based insurers into three, merging Journey Insurance Company into American Coastal Insurance Company, with American Coastal remaining as the only surviving entity.

The consolidation plan, subject to regulatory approval, seeks to create a more efficient operating structure going forward, United said, by allowing the subsidiaries to focus on either commercial or personal lines.
