Go-shop period in Berkshire-Alleghany deal ends without alternative proposals

The 25-day go-shop period in Berkshire Hathaway’s agreement to buy Alleghany has ended without alternative acquisition proposals.

In a statement, Alleghany said its representatives and financial advisers solicited alternative deals from 31 potentially interested third parties until April 14 but did not receive any proposals.
