Chubb improved its combined ratio by 7.5 points to 84.3% in the first quarter of 2022, reaffirming a strong beginning of the year for commercial lines carriers.

The insurer’s loss ratio decreased 7.2 points to 56.5% and the expense ratio declined 0.3 points to 27.8% in the first three months of the year.
