A group of 16 Democratic lawmakers have sent a letter to several major insurance companies asking them to stop underwriting new fossil fuel projects, according to a Bloomberg report.

The lawmakers issued the letter on Wednesday to more than a dozen insurance companies, including AIG, Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance and Chubb.
