WTW’s Hess: ‘Headwinds dissipated’ on staff retention and outlook positive

The staff retention headwinds faced by WTW in the past year have “dissipated”, and there is now a “pretty good story” to tell on staff retention and new business traction going forward, according to WTW CEO Carl Hess.

The executive said organisational uncertainty relating to the failed merger with Aon had led to uncertainty among staff, but that WTW had “been able to reverse that” through a string of hiring since the breakdown of the deal.
