Everest Re said it took “very significant actions” in its aviation book over the past two years which had positioned it to withstand shock losses in a much better way, as it fielded Q1 earnings call questions on Ukraine-Russia War exposures.

The firm expected no impact from the conflict to its profit objectives this year, but stressed that loss estimates across the industry were “really purely speculative” at this stage.
