Bermuda-based (re)insurer Aspen Insurance narrowed its underwriting loss for the 2021 full year, with its combined ratio decreasing 2.2 points to 101.2%, as improvements at the reinsurance segment outweighed higher insurance losses.

The company also reported a 2021 adjusted combined ratio of 98.8% that included the company taking the full benefit of an adverse development cover it entered in 2020.
