Dubai Aerospace files $1bn insurance claim for aircraft in Russia

Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) has filed a $1bn insurance claim for 19 aircraft on the ground in Russia, accounting for around 7% of the lessor’s leased aircraft by net book value.

The total value of the aircraft is $576.5mn, but DAE has recorded a write-off of $537.9mn, as it holds funds in maintenance reserves and security deposits from Russian airlines.
