April’s Texas surplus premiums top $1bn as E&S market boom rolls on

Premiums written by surplus lines insurers in Texas topped $1bn for the first time in April, the Surplus Lines Stamping Office of Texas (SLTX) said.

The $1.02bn written in April reflected a 36% leap over last year and was the largest monthly total in SLTX’s 33 years, as the E&S market continues a boom that stretches back to the beginning of 2019.
