AIG pulls out of standalone aviation war market

AIG has ceased underwriting the majority of its aviation hull war and war liability coverage, in the latest demonstration of dislocation in the class amid huge uncertainty around exposure to the Russia-Ukraine crisis, this publication can reveal.

Sources said the carrier told brokers it had stopped writing standalone aviation war, which includes aviation hull war, contingent aviation hull war and excess and standalone AVN52, across both AIG and Lloyd’s arm Talbot.
