Palomar completes reinsurance renewal with $430mn earthquake cover

Californian carrier Palomar has secured $430mn of earthquake insurance and a further $200mn of incremental windstorm cover in reinsurance renewals incepting on 1 June.

The insurer now has reinsurance coverage exhausting $2.08bn for earthquake events and $900mn for hurricane events, which the company said provides “adequate headroom” to support growth initiatives while covering worst-case losses.
