InsurTechs that over-optimized for growth were ‘destined for corrections’: Branch CEO

Branch co-founder and CEO Steve Lekas said that his company has only been willing to “grow as fast as our target loss ratio allows”, which he argued is unique in a market where valuations have over relied on growth and neglected underwriting profitability.

The executive spoke on the heels of Branch successfully raising $147mn in Series C funding, led by Weatherford Capital.
