In the third episode of Inside P&C’s new podcast, Unreserved, Tokio Marine co-head of international Chris Williams sits down with Insider Publishing’s editor-in-chief Adam McNestrie. In the wide-ranging interview, Williams also:
– Said the group was committed to running its international business on a “federated” basis, giving management teams of acquired businesses significant autonomy
– Predicted that having slowed up through 1 April and 1 June the reinsurance market would be “flattish” in 2022
– Argued that putting an emphasis on environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) is “simply the right thing to do” and that it could drive improved results on traditional performance metrics
– Observed that the economy would more likely than not see a pick-up in inflation that the industry would have to deal with alongside the return of social inflation following a pandemic “sabbatical”
