Chubb improved its headline combined ratio by 1.5 points year-over-year to 84% in the second quarter of 2022, reaffirming a strong beginning of the year for commercial lines carriers.

This decline was driven by a 0.4-point dip YoY in the loss ratio, and a 1.1-point decrease in the expense ratio year-over-year.
